      <image:caption>Born in Tauranga, Ruakiri is a product of Māori-Medium and Global education, who is driven to help and support everyone realise their full potential. Over the last 10 years, Ruakiri has worked in various roles across the public sector for various government agencies and is currently the lead Cultural Advisor - Kaiwhakamānawa at Toi Moana - Bay of Plenty Regional Council.  He is also the business owner of Te Haeata Consultancy Ltd, a company developed to support groups, organisations, corporations and companies grow their understanding and appreciation of te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Ruakiri has long been serving Ngāti Tarāwhai as the co-founder and head tutor of Te Kapa o Ngāti Tarāwhai alongside his whānau since September 2009. The kapa was created to bring together descendants of Ngāti Tarāwhai from all 3 marae and over the last 12 years the kapa has  seen over 160 performers and has performed at over 50 events across Aotearoa and 10 countries overseas. The Kapa now consists of a Pakeke group. While he serves the Ngāti Tarāwhai board as a new trustee, he also sits as a member of Te Mātāuru ki Te Arawa (Te Mātāwai), Ngā Kohinga Whakairo o Hinemihi and the Aotearoa NZ United World College Committee.
